GANADO Advocates featured in GlobalCapital following Global ABS 2018

An article entitled “Blockchain will transform ABS, but needs ‘proof of concept’” published in GlobalCapital on 6th June 2018, summarises the blockchain panel discussion at Global ABS 2018 held earlier this month in Barcelona. It mentions key topics discussed by panel members, which consisted of securitisation leaders from global law firms Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP and DLA Piper, as well as Nicholas Curmi, who heads the securitisation practice at GANADO Advocates. Speakers unanimously agreed that blockchain technology would provide tangible benefits to the securitisation market and its various stakeholders, although potential obstacles along the path to implementation were also discussed, including getting institutions (and the various decisions makers within them) to move away from entrenched legacy systems and generally building industry consensus around the technology.
