On 3rd April, FinanceMalta, in conjunction with Blockchain Malta Association, is hosting another event in the Blockfinance series dedicated to Innovative Technology Arrangements. This time round the focus will be on the AML challenges which Malta and operators within the crypto space are encountering and which can only negatively affect the DLT and smart contract sector.
The session will focus on the fast-moving changes in the DLT and crypto space in terms of applicable law, guidelines and initiatives, both local and international. Presentations on whether Malta is living up to its international AML-CFT obligations within the crypto space will also be delivered. A review on how current laws apply to the different sectors of this industry from VFA agents to Service Providers to Issuers will be carried out. In addition, a discussion on the positioning of institutions within this space and the challenges they are encountering will also be held.
Like the previous events in the series, the session will be held in the morning at the Corinthia Palace Hotel in Attard.
GANADO Advocates’ Senior Partner Max Ganado will deliver an introductory overview of the current landscape affecting and applying to the Innovative Technology Arrangements area and act as moderator for the event. Mario Zerafa will be delivering a presentation on the AML-CFT challenges which VFA Service Providers are encountering.
