On 23 November, the Institute of Financial Services Malta hosted its annual seminar, which centered around the Regulatory Challenges that lie ahead in the coming year 2018. The event held at the Westin hotel welcomed many distinguished speakers, such as Hon. Dr Joseph Muscat, the Prime Minister of Malta, Hon. Prof. Edward Scicluna, the Minister for Finance as well as Opposition leader, Dr Adrian Delia. Topics discussed by presenters included the development of the regulatory framework, the new Insurance Distribution Directive and Data Protection. Mr James Farrugia, Partner at GANADO Advocates, gave a specialised presentation about the MiFID II reform ahead of its roll out at the beginning of the new year.
